Candente Intersects 702 Metres of 0.59% Cu
VANCOUVER, BC - Candente Resource Corp. reported that analyses have been received for four additional holes, 07-141, 142, 143 and 144, all of which were drilled in the northern half of the deposit. Drill hole 07-141 intersected 702 metres (m) averaging 0.59% Cu (from 65 to 767 m) and within that 292 m averaged 0.70% Cu (from 301 to 593 m). In addition, hole 07-144 intersected 255 m averaging 0.80% Cu (from 71 to 325 m) and hole 07-142 intersected 267 m averaging 0.70% Cu (from 20 to 287 m).
Drilling has now demonstrated a vertical extent of at least 968 m (3,175 feet) to the Canariaco Norte copper deposit. The bottom of hole 07-141 is at an elevation of 2,110 m above sea level (ASL) and the top of the deposit is at an elevation of 3,078 m ASL.
To date, four deeper holes (07-129, 07-135, 07-141 and 07-146) have intersected copper mineralization to depths of between 639 m and 767 m over an area that is 302 m from east to west and 747 m north to south. All four holes ended in copper mineralization leaving the deposit open at depth. Analyses are still pending for drill hole 07-146. These deeper intersections reach on average 250 m and 350 m below the depths of surrounding holes in the northern and southern portions of the deposit, respectively. The average depth of all 82 holes used for the 820 Mt estimated resource is 318 m.
Drilling continues to expand the size of the deposit laterally and vertically and for all feasibility requirements. Environmental (EIA) and Feasibility studies have been underway since January and May, respectively. In March 2007 a resource of 820 Million tonnes (Mt) grading 0.45% Cu average (cut-off of 0.3% Cu) and containing 8.1 billion pounds of copper was estimated based on the 82 holes (26,018.72 m) drilled as of Dec 2006.
