Solex Resources Receives Very Positive Metallurgical Test Results
VANCOUVER, BC - Solex Resources Corp. reported that it has received the results of metallurgical test work conducted by SGS Mineral Services in Peru using the combined expertise of SGS's staff from Peru, Chile and Canada. The tests used Solex's own mobile laboratory test unit designed and built by SGS in
"These metallurgical results prove that uranium can be recovered quickly and cheaply across a variety of mineralised rock types found on our properties in the Macusani region of
Samples were taken from 3 surface locations (from trenches and shallow pits) at the Macusani West and Macusani South projects and transported to the test unit, located at SGS's compound in Juliaca,
The extraction of the uranium does not vary significantly with different crushing sizes or solution flow rates. The low grade (0.165 lbs/t) samples from the Pich target resulted in an extraction rate of 89.3% of the contained uranium into solution compared to the high grade (3.36 lbs/t) samples from the Viz target which resulted in an extraction rate of 99.5%. The sample from the Chahuana target (grade of 0.99 lbs/t) gave a 97.8% extraction at a crush size of 1 inch. All the samples from the three locations showed a fast kinetic response and very high uranium extraction, with only a marginal increase in extraction by reducing the crush size from 1 inch to 0.5 inch. Acid consumption was low in all three samples with most of the uranium extracted within the first 20 days of the 60 day leach test.
